ABOUT
GIPAC
|
GIPAC is the political action committee (PAC) for clinical gastroenterologists and gastrointestinal (GI) specialists. We are a bipartisan federal PAC that supports legislators demonstrating an interest in the issues and challenges facing our practices and patients. It is important to note that GIPAC is an issue-specific PAC: While our members may have diverse political opinions, we agree that it is necessary to support those willing to champion the legislative causes important to our profession.
Please contact GIPAC leadership if you wish to have GIPAC support a member of Congress or candidate for federal office.
A message from GIPAC President Dan Pambianco:
Your contributions should be going towards a campaign and not lost in administrative fees. As a separate and stand-alone organization, GIPAC is uniquely situated where total operating expenses are less than $1,000 per month. We will continue to operate on a shoe-string administrative budget while growing GIPAC coffers heading into the November elections. Our goals are reachable simply because of your continued support. Thank you.
“One Scope” Campaign
Please join GIPAC today. I urge you to donate the national average Medicare reimbursement from one colonoscopy to help GIPAC be a stronger voice for the GI clinician. Unfortunately for our specialty, dwindling Medicare reimbursement makes this contribution even easier. Thanks to you, this year GIPAC was well-positioned financially to support those legislators and candidates willing to champion causes for our patients and who also recognize the fact that provider reimbursement is indeed a necessary component to increasing quality of care.
Thank you for your support. GIPAC will remain active and a strong voice fighting for clinical gastroenterology.

Rep. Bill Cassidy, MD (R-LA)
As a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and a hepatologist by training, Dr. Cassidy is a champion of causes important to clinical gastroenterology and our patients such as improving screening rates for Hepatitis C and colon cancer. Dr. Cassidy is also a leader in the U.S. House of Representatives on issues impacting physicians, such as Medicare reimbursement reform and legislation to both to repeal as well as improve sections the health reform law.
Rep. Rodney Davis (R-IL)
Rep. Davis is a freshman member from Illinois but is not new to issues impacting GI patients. GIPAC supported his election bid in 2012. Mr. Davis has an appreciation for the life-saving role the GI provider plays in prevention and patient care. Mr. Davis is also a staunch proponent of placing the practice of medicine into the hands of providers and patients.
